The International Library of Children’s Literature is Japan’s first national library specializing in children’s books, which will be located in Ueno Park.
The former Imperial Library was used for the building, which is a Western-style building in the Meiji Period in the Renaissance style.
Children’s books and related materials from Japan and abroad are available for browsing.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the library holds events such as picture book readings and storytelling sessions.
Tours of the museum are also available for the general public, although advance reservations are required.
